About Me

Robynn's believes that the best way to learn is by doing.  Her philosophy, based on over 30 years' experience, is that students can quickly learn T'ai Chi when in a supportive, positive environment. Her classes consist of a follow-along practice of all the movements each week, and refinement of the moves happens over time. She only offers positive suggestions to improve movements, never criticism, and she never singles anyone out for personal instruction during class time, unless an individual asks.  She believes everyone will develop their practice in their own time, as they are ready and able.  She is always available to answer questions and provide individual instruction at the end of class, and encourages people to listen to their own bodies as they learn.

Robynn has taught T'ai Chi to thousands of people of all ages and abilities, in Victoria, Invermere and the Comox Valley. She whole-heartedly believes in the power of this practice to heal, enlighten and transform, to peace, joy and self-empowerment to those who do it.

Robynn Honeychurch began learning T'ai Chi Chih in 1991.   In 1992 she attended the teacher's accreditation course in Denver, Colorado, led by Steve Ridley, the Acting Head of T'ai Chi Chih at the time. Along with her T'ai Chi teaching certificate, she has a BFA, public school teaching certificate, hypnotherapy certificate and a master level Reiki therapist certification.

Over the years she has integrated powerful Qi Gong breathing, affirmations and visualization practices with the T'ai Chi Chih moves which has evolved the practice into an even more powerful, effective form.  She now calls this form T'ai Chi Gong. She has produced a practice video which has helped many students who wish to keep working on their movements between in-person classes.
